This page is dedicated to the men of
Unit History The 17th AHC/The Kingsmen, arrived in Vietnam the first week of October, 1967. Upon their arrival in Vietnam, the 17th's first base was set up at Long Binh. Their general area of operation was known as "The Plantation". They also had part of the unit at Bau Loc supporting the Montagyards (a mountain tribe of Vietnam). They remained at Long Binh until shortly after Tet of ' 68, then the unit moved 92 clicks north of DaNang and established a new base camp that later became known as Camp Eagle. They then began servicing the 101st and were soon absorbed into the 101st and then became "B" Company 101st Avn Bn. Camp Eagle was home to many units from other Divisions including the 101st Airborne Division, 82nd Airborne, 2/17 Cavalry, 801st Signal Battalions, 173 Airborne, and many more.
Just a note to all Rotorwash visitors. I have had numerous people ask in the past if there is any way they can help with the payment of the site. In thinking this over, I have decided to add a donation button to the bottom of the Kingsmen page and the main page for those who wish to make a donation to Rotorwash.net. It is not required or requested. Simply for those who have asked to help for the cost and upkeep of the site. It is being handled through Paypal. This is an online payment center and is very safe and secure. It is the number one payment method used for Ebay. I have personally used it probably over a 100 times with no problems or security problems. Just click the button below and it will take you to the Paypal site and simply follow the instructions. Feel free to email me with questions. Thanks, Marty 06/23/07 Updates to the Camp Eagle and the Kingsmen Memorial Pages!

The Kingsmen have quite a few very talented people who have painted paintings, wrote books, etc. This page will serve as a showcase for those Kingsmen who have personal works for sale. These guys are very humble and some of the nicest folks I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have decided to showcase their works strictly on my own and chose to do so because of the quality of the work and the people behind it. The new Kingsmen online directory is now up and running. With this memorial we wish to honor another hero of the Vietnam War. One
that was wounded many times. One that saved thousands of lives. A Hero
that has not received one decoration for all the times that it performed
flawlessly. THE HUEY. The UH1 brought many of us back alive. Ask any grunt
what the most beautiful sound he ever heard in country was, and he will
tell you that it was that loud thump, thump, thump of the Huey's
blades. Ask any pilot if he ever screwed up and had his Huey save his ass
by doing things it was not built to do. The Huey never complained. The
Huey never quit. Many times these birds continued to fly with their life's
blood leaking out till the mission was complete. Huey Monument dedication May 18th,1996 |
